Cheryl plans to quit her £3.5million mansion “lock, stock and barrel” before husband Ashley comes home.
The X Factor babe told pals the Surrey pad holds too many painful memories after discovering Ashley had allegedly cheated on her.
She hopes to have moved out completely before the Chelsea and England star gets the all-clear from medics to leave the French sports injury clinic where he is being treated for a broken ankle.
Cheryl, 26, has viewed two luxury properties nearby and wants Ashley to buy her out of her share of the posh pad.
In the meantime, the Girls Aloud singer plans to rent somewhere.
Ashley, 29, is desperate to get home before she leaves so he can try to convince her to give him another chance.
His injury is due to be re-assessed by medics tomorrow at the CERS clinic in Capbreton.
Ashley was due to fly home on Tuesday but his leg had not healed as well as doctors had hoped.
They told him if he ignored advice and left to see his wife as planned, he would be putting his chances of playing in this summer’s World Cup at risk.
Yesterday he cut a lonely figure in the clinic’s oceanfront gym as six inches of snow fell on the surfers’ paradise.
A fellow patient said: “He looked like a man on a mission – head down saying nothing. His life is a serious business right now.”
A source close to Cheryl said: “She wants to be gone before he gets home. She doesn’t want to see him.
“Her plan is to have her stuff out of the house before he flies home, then if they do meet, she can dictate the terms.
“The house holds too many memories after everything that has gone on. He can have it.
“She’s going lock, stock and barrel.
“She’s already looking for somewhere else for her, her mum and her two dogs.”
Ironically, Cole tried to blame his mum-in-law Joan, 50, for their split, claiming her being there ruined his sex life.
