Cheryl Cole has admitted that she was unhappy when tabloid newspapers claimed she was feuding with X Factor co-star Dannii Minogue.
The female judges were depicted as fierce rivals in the press after Cole joined the ITV1 talent show in 2008.
Speaking to Sydney’s 2DayFM radio station, Cole commented: “I find it such a shame that people feel the need to pitch women against each other. Me and Dannii actually get on really well – she’s an amazing woman and we have no rivalry whatsoever.
“You never have Simon against Louis, do you know what I mean? It’s always the girls.”
Asked if she can imagine ever having an argument with Minogue, she replied: “You can’t, she’s really nice. Obviously we always get a bit competitive with the competition when we’ve got our own acts, but me and Dannii kind of stick together against the boys.”
The Girls Aloud star added that she ‘really likes’ the Australian accent and noted that Minogue’s is always stronger after she has been on a trip home.
She said: “Sometimes she goes back for Australia’s Got Talent and then she comes back and her accent’s really strong and really singy and I have to listen harder. It’s like melodic.”
