Cheryl Cole has made her intention to end her marriage official with a tweet from her PR company Supersonic’s Twitter account.
The post on the micro-blogging site read: ‘We can confirm the divorce.’
Yesterday, it was reported that the nation’s sweetheart wanted the divorce to be finalised before the World Cup, and that she didn’t want a penny of Ashley’s money nor the plush Surrey home they shared together.
But today, The Mirror reports that Chezza is hoping for half of their marital assets and their pet dogs, chihuahuas Coco and Buster (none of Ash’s cash though).
Commenting on her divorce settlement, a source said: ‘Cars, houses, the whole lot will be sold off and split between them.
‘Any trace of Ashley will be expunged from her life. It’s brutal, but Cheryl believes it is the only way she can move on and get on with her life.’
The insider continued: ‘Despite all that she’s been through she’s not out to humiliate her husband however tempting it must have felt at times.”
And Chezza is reported to have said to Ash: ‘I never want to see or hear from you ever again. Please respect that.’
Cheryl’s divorce provides an opportunity for the singer to pursue a career in the USA with the help of Mr Simon Cowell.
According to insiders, Chezza is tipped to appear on the American version of the The X Factor.
She has also been working closely with US star Will.I.Am who is rumoured to be her love interest. He recently said: ‘She needs rescuing after all she’s been through and I’m the man to do it.’
Meanwhile, the Daily Star alleges that footballer Ashley is ‘furious’ about the timing of Chezza’s divorce confirmation – let’s hope it doesn’t affect England’s chances in the World Cup!
Cheryl once described Ashley as having a ‘beautiful soul’, adding: ‘This is the man I am going to have my babies with.’
She will apparently be reverting to her maiden name, Tweedy.
