Cheryl Cole has no plans to revert to her maiden name when her divorce is finalised, according to a report.
Simon Cowell introduced her as Cheryl Tweedy at an X Factor audition this week, but a friend told the News of the World that people should not take that as a sign of the singer’s future plans.
They insisted Cheryl did not know what Simon was planning and that she will keep England footballer Ashley Cole’s surname, despite their separation.
“She’s Cheryl Cole now and has spent years building up a successful brand – she’s not prepared to turn her back on it. Tweedy doesn’t feel right,” the source explained.
The Girls Aloud singer is believed to have started a relationship with American dancer Derek Hough and recently spent a luxurious break in Tanzania with him.
According to one report on Sunday, the dancer is so serious about Cheryl that he has hired an immigration lawyer to help him obtain a work permit for the UK so that he can be close to her.
