Cheryl Cole has had a tospy-turvy year and it seems that the glamorous pop star is finally starting to feel the strain of it, allegedly telling pals that she needs to take a three-month break to get herself together again.
The Parachute singer, whose turbulent marriage to footballer Ashley Cole ended at the start of the year, has reportedly told her friends that she needs space away from the limelight. And worried pals fear that the star, who is also an X Factor judge, is ‘close to breaking point’.
Speaking to Star magazine, a source said: “Cheryl’s really starting to feel the strain. She’s in need of a good rest. The past few months have been utterly exhausting for her. She says she would love a two or three-month career break.”
The pretty singer has hardly been out of the headlines over the last 12 months, which have seen her split from husband, return to judge The X Factor, launch a successful solo career, and allegedly embark on a new relationship with dancer Derek Hough.
And it seems that the constant attention she has now become used to has become overbearing. The insider continued: “Cheryl adores her work, but she wishes she could just go somewhere to get out of the limelight for a while. She feels like she has become public property.”
The pretty star recently returned from a short break to Tanzania with Derek Hough, who is well known as a professional on the US show Dancing With The Stars, but it looks like she could do with a longer holiday next time.
