Cheryl Cole gives haters permission to stay jealous

TV viewers want to see less reality and celebrity-based shows featuring the likes of Cheryl Cole and more drama and documentaries, a survey suggests.

Some 44 per cent said Big Brother was the show they were most likely to avoid and just two per cent wanted more celebrity content.

A total of 31 per cent would like more drama, while 30 per cent would prefer more documentaries.

Top Gear was named the nation’s favourite show in the joint survey by online TV service SeeSaw and Radio Times.

It also found 56 per cent of students watched their TV shows online.

People now ‘hunt down’ what they want to watch and gather their favourite shows, said Radio Times editor Ben Preston.

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole is set to perform her new single Promise This on the ITV talent show in October.

The Girls Aloud singer has chosen the song as its lyrics relate to her recent battle with malaria, which saw her spend time in intensive care earlier this year following a holiday in Tanzania.

A video for the single, which is tipped to be a number one hit in the charts, is due to be filmed within the next week, before it is then given its first airing on Radio 1.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, a source said that the song was written before Cole contracted malaria, however, the lyrics tie in with her near-death experience.

“It is similar to the way Fight For This Love related to her marriage drama. A release date hasn’t been confirmed for the single but there’s talk Cheryl could perform on the second live show after Joe McElderry. It’s a huge comeback track and Cheryl absolutely loves it,” the source added.

Since her health problems, Cole has spent most of the summer in Los Angeles, sparking up a friendship with US dancer Derek Hough, who has been by her side since she split from husband Ashley Cole.

Can’t wait for this, there is absolutely no doubt that she will perform on X Factor.

Rumor has it that it has been confirmed by CJai on his Twitter that the first single off Cheryl’s sophomore album is indeed called “Promise This” as DailyStar reported earlier in the week. CJai was the writer for Fight For This Love aswell and he also mentioned working with Wayne Wilkins on the track.

Jon Boogie, who was a dancer for Britney Spears on her Circus tour, also tweeted about auditioning for what is most likely to be the video. Another one of Britney’s dancer, Chase Benz was in Cheryl’s BRIT Awards performance earlier this year. Seems like Cheryl is doing the video right now in Los Angeles.

Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell wants Cheryl Cole to ditch her dancer boyfriend Derek Hough – for the sake of her career.

The TV mogul told Derek, 25, the Girls Aloud singer needs to focus on her work, it has been claimed.

Simon, 50, laid out his thoughts for Derek in a man-to-man chat over dinner at his London mansion recently.A close friend of Derek’s said last night: “Derek said Simon was friendly enough, but very firmly told him exactly what he thought.

“During the dinner Simon told Derek, ‘It’s nothing personal, I just don’t think Cheryl should be spending so much time with you so soon after her marriage break-up.’

“After the dinner Derek said to me, ‘I just could not thaw him out. He is just so firm about where he stands.’”

Simon became Cheryl’s career mentor after he hand-picked the 27-year-old Geordie to replace Sharon Osbourne as a judge on X Factor in 2008. He has also supported her following the break-up of her marriage to cheating soccer star Ashley Cole.

Derek’s pal claimed: “Derek told me Cheryl respects Simon more than anyone else and she knows it is down to him that she is where she is today.

The lyrics to Cheryl Cole’s new single reportedly relate to her battle with malaria.

According to the Daily Star Sunday, the X Factor judge will release ‘Promise This’ as the first single from her new album. The lyrics are said to strangely relate to her fight with the disease, despite being written before her ordeal.

A source said: “Cheryl’s comeback song is called ‘Promise This’. It was actually written months ago and although it’s not directly talking about her illness there is a strange lyrical twist that ironically relates to her recent near-death experience.

“It is similar to the way ‘Fight For This Love’ related to her marriage drama. A release date hasn’t been confirmed for the single but there’s talk Cheryl could perform on the second [X Factor] live show after Joe McElderry.

“It’s a huge comeback track and Cheryl absolutely loves it. There’s a lot of pressure on her to follow up her first album with another multi-platinum seller. But everyone agrees she is back with her best material yet.”

What is this crap, I don’t even~

This is the moment Cheryl Cole first showed the world she had the X Factor.

The pretty little six-year-old stole the show from more than 100 other young hopefuls when took part in the Star Of The Future modelling contest in Newcastle 20 years ago.

Her moves then including pouting at the audience and wiggling her hips look astonishingly like the pop beauty in action today. The contest in 1990 was Cheryl’s first brush with fame but has never been seen until now.

Our exclusive footage at www.people.co.uk shows her delivering a show-stopping performance in the competition run by her local newspaper.

Mike Whitehouse, who was manager of the now-defunct Children’s World store, recalls how Cheryl strutted on to the stage, wiggled her hips and even did the samba just like when shes on stage with Girls Aloud.

Haha oh my god this is so cute. She wiggled her hips and stuff lmfao. Fierce child!
