The Once singer also revealed that having to fight nerves on the show enabled her to have the confidence she now oozes at her gigs.
‘X Factor was the most nerve-racking thing I’ve ever done in my life but it really helped me build my confidence and bring me to where I am now’, she said.
Speaking to Metro at this weekend’s V Festival, Miss Vickers told us how despite X Factor shooting her to fame, she doesn’t keep in contact with the show’s jusges – Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue – for any more advice.
But, when asked about a possible future collaboration with the Geordie judge, she was more than enthusiastic: ‘I would love to duet with Cheryl Cole, it would be awesome.’
And it seems that all of the stage fright the 19-year-old once suffered from is now a thing of the past, for which she thanked the gruelling X Factor live shows and her four-month stint on West End show Little Voice.
Now, the singer, who performed at the festival as well as giving her showbiz pals an exclusive gig inside Virgin Media’s Louder Lounge, is raring to go: ‘I just want to party on stage now. I want to be able to really connect with my audience.
‘I don’t like it when stars don’t talk to their audience. You have to.’
