TV viewers want to see less reality and celebrity-based shows featuring the likes of Cheryl Cole and more drama and documentaries, a survey suggests.
Some 44 per cent said Big Brother was the show they were most likely to avoid and just two per cent wanted more celebrity content.
A total of 31 per cent would like more drama, while 30 per cent would prefer more documentaries.
Top Gear was named the nation’s favourite show in the joint survey by online TV service SeeSaw and Radio Times.
It also found 56 per cent of students watched their TV shows online.
People now ‘hunt down’ what they want to watch and gather their favourite shows, said Radio Times editor Ben Preston.
