Cheryl Cole, de Grisogono Promise Ring

Cheryl launched her ring collection called “Promise” last night at the de Grisogono launch party at Nobu restaurant London, a design collaboration with creative jeweller Fawaz Gruosi, founder of de Grisogono.

The ring combines design chic with fashion flair and the first model from this exclusive line marks the release of Cheryl Cole’s new single, “Promise This”.

The ring is designed to be worn on the little finger and features the subtle warmth of rose gold and the strength of blackened silver, delicately cut spelling the word “Promise”.

Cheryl explains the motivation behind the design:

‘I love my promise ring, I’ve always loved pinkie rings, they’re cute, trendy and so cool’

If you love these rings as much as we do, we recommend you buy here at the de Grisogono website (£770 – or better still, get someone to promise to buy you one!) .

Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts

Cheryl Cole toasted her new jewellery launch with Girls Aloud bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh.

The X Factor judge – who recently recovered from malaria – launched her new ring collection, Promise, for luxury jewellery firm de Grisogono at London’s exclusive Nobu restaurant, before enjoying post dinner drinks at the Met hotel with the girls.

Cheryl, 27, who was carrying out her first public engagement for almost three months since recovering from her illness, looked dazzling as she posed for photographers in a sparkling mini-dress.

The singer and bandmates Nicole and Kimberly posted a smiling picture of themselves with their arms around one another on Twitter to celebrate the success of the evening.

Cheryl will appear back on TV on Saturday night when the judges’ houses episodes of The X Factor are aired on ITV over the weekend, showing the final 12 contestants being picked for this year’s show.

Cheryl is mentoring the girls again and Simon Cowell has already said she has the winner in her group.

Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole has reportedly increased her personal security ahead of an upcoming book signing.

According to Metro, the X Factor judge has taken extra precautions before launching her Through My Eyes memoir this week.

Cole is said to be worried after she reportedly lost a ring when being grabbed by a fan in June. Leona Lewis’s assault by a fan at a book signing last year is also believed to have concerned Cole.

“Everyone’s a bit nervous about what happened to Leona,” a source told the newspaper. “Cheryl’s security team has been beefed up and no-one is taking any chances this time.”

In her book, Cole has described friend Derek Hough as a sweetheart and frequent collaborator will.i.am as “a very special person”. It has been claimed that she does not mention her ex-husband Ashley in the account of her last 12 months.

Cheryl Cole and Joe McElderry

Joe McElderry has revealed that Cheryl Cole sent him a supportive text message when he announced that he was gay.

McElderry, who came out in July, said that he appreciated his former mentor’s gesture – particularly since she was still getting over her battle with malaria at the time.

He told X Magazine: “She had a lot of her own stuff going on, so it wasn’t really appropriate for me to just phone her up and go, ‘Guess what Cheryl?’

“But she was fine. She texted me and said, ‘I’m glad you’ve managed to get it out.’ And she’s always been there whenever I’ve needed to talk to her or discuss anything. She was great.”

McElderry – who admitted that he lost the text message when he accidentally dropped his phone down the toilet – said that his mother was equally encouraging when he told her about his sexuality.

The 19-year-old added: “It was about a week before I told the press and we were on the train and I said, ‘I’ve got something to tell you,’ and she was like, ‘Oh, all right then,’ and then I told her, and she was fine.”

McElderry releases his next single ‘Ambitions’ on October 11, followed by his debut album Wide Awake on October 25.

Selena Gomez, Cheryl Cole

Selena Gomez, our little Cheryl stan from the States have once again mentioned Cheryl, not only by speech, but by words on print! Selena gave Cheryl a little tribute for Chez being a “massive inspiration” to her in her album booklet.

She’s also been mentioning Cheryl like crazy in the past weeks promoting her album at various interviews. She said in the Perez Hilton interview (@ 1:55) with Perez asking:

“Somebody told me you really love Cheryl Cole slash Tweedy, I like to call her Tweedy now cause she’s a single lady. She may have dated that one dude, but I don’t believe that, it don’t really matter. Why do you like Cheryl so much?”

“I would like to be on the record to say that i’m the one who introduced Cheryl to Justin[Bieber],” Selena said.

“He will nto stop talking about her, he didn’t know who she was. We were talking one day and I said that I’m obsessed with this girl Cheryl Cole cause I was shooting a movie overseas [The UK] and she’s huge over there so I picked it up while I was there and I showed him some videos, we watched a couple of videos.”

“And he was obsessed with her, then he goes everywhere and talks about her and I’m like, she was mine first.”

“I’m like defensive over her, I love her, I think she’s fierce, she’s amazing, she’s beautiful, I don’t know, she’s gone through a lot and I think she carries herself so well.”

Selena continued to sing praises about Chez, “I love everything about her, her fashion, her hair, her makeup. She’s like my role model.”

She also talked a lot about Cheryl at the JustJared interview, saying her favourite Cheryl songs are Parachute, Stand Up and Promise This. You can watch the interview here: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/9712991

Aaaw I love Selena even more now, she’s such a stan and I love that she’s not just a casual fan and she loves Promise This too! Selena’s new album “A Year Without Rain” is out now!

Cheryl Cole and Alexnadra Burke

Simon Cowell believes Cheryl Cole may win ‘The X Factor for a third time because of the strength of the girls category.

The music mogul believes the Girls Aloud star will win the pop star search show for the third year in a row because of the strength of her group, which includes hip-hop lover Cher Lloyd and Zimbabwe-born Gamu Nhengu.

Discussing this year’s acts, Simon said: “In terms of what I’ve seen so far, particularly in the girls category, it should be a stronger year.”

Cheryl has also revealed her delight at being given the category, saying: “I am going for the hat-trick.”

The boot camp show which aired last night (26.09.10) saw all of the judges receive their categories – in addition to Cheryl’s girls, Simon received the groups, Louis the over-28s, while Dannii will mentor the boys, in a move she admitted she “wasn’t expecting”.

In addition to Gamu and Cher, Cheryl also has young mum Rebecca Ferguson and eccentric blonde Katie Waissel in her eight acts, which will go through to the judges’ houses section of the show.

In Dannii’s boys category are 18-year-old Aiden Grimshaw, builder Matt Cardle and Italian-born Nicolo Festa.

Simon’s groups include two newly formed bands, Belle Amie and 1 Direction – made up of people who initially auditioned in the girls and boys categories respectively – boy band Princes and Rogues and the Pussycat Dolls-inspired Husstle.

In the over-28s category are supermarket worker Mary Byrne, camp Scotsman Stephen Hunter and Storm Lee – who divided opinion on the judging panel at the audition stage of the show because of his cocky style.

Ashley and Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole’s upcoming autobiography makes no mention of ex-husband Ashley, it has been revealed.

The ‘Fight For This Love’ singer completely leaves out any reference to Ashley in her 253-page book Through My Eyes, and even claims that she had “the best times of [her] life” in the last two years, according to The Sun.

Cheryl also apparently writes in detail about Derek Hough, who she describes as “the best” and “a sweetheart”, and will.i.am, who she reveals is “passionate to the core”.

Similarly, while there are several pictures of Cheryl with Hough and will.i.am in the autobiography, there are no photos of the 27-year-old with her former husband.

The X Factor judge refuses to divulge anything about her battle with malaria, although she does indicate that she wants to spend more time in the US after she moves out of her Surrey mansion.

She writes: “I’ve spent a bit of time in LA over the last couple of years… I love it that the sun shines all the time.”

Through My Eyes is released on Thursday.
