The four-year marriage of Cheryl and Ashley Cole has ended in divorce at the High Court in London.
The celebrity couple became engaged in 2005 and tied the knot the following year
Their “quickie divorce” – titled by their initials CAC vs AC – was granted by District Judge Christopher Simmonds “under the special procedure rule”.
At the High Court’s Family Division in Holborn, the couple were granted a decree nisi – a preliminary divorce order that can be finalised within weeks if neither side objects.
Both Cheryl and Cole did not attend the central London hearing, which lasted only one minute and 20 seconds.
According to reports, the couple have agreed to split their £20m fortune down the middle – although Cheryl will get custody of their two dogs, Buster and Coco.
A spokesman for the singer declined to comment on the divorce news.
