Paralysed youngster, Tiarney Calder, from Kings Heath, had a private encounter with X Factor stars when she visited the studios for a behind-the-scenes peak.
She spent a few precious moments with the judges and contestants before having her photo taken with them.
The Wilson Stuart School pupil came face-to-face with hit-maker Simon Cowell and her favourite contestant Cher Lloyd, who is from Malvern.
And she spent an hour with Katie Waissel, the contestant who many viewers seem to love to hate.
But her big moment came when she met Cheryl Cole.
Her mum, Vicky Kane, aged 33, was with Tiarney, who was left paralysed in a car accident in 2005 and spent more than five years in hospital, for part of her day out, which was arranged by the Make A Wish Foundation.
She said: “Tiarney had a wonderful time and it was a dream day that she will never forget. She was so excited about meeting Cheryl.
“Unfortunately she didn’t spend too long with her as she was really busy.
“But Simon came and sat with her for 15 minutes and chatted away. He asked her if she liked the colour pink because she has a pink wheelchair and was wearing a skirt in the same shade.
“At the end of the meeting he told Tiarney she was welcome back to the show anytime she wanted. He was a lovely man and so friendly. He took a lot of time out to speak with Tiarney which she loved.
“I think the highlights were meeting Cher and Cheryl though as they are both her favourites. She also got a private meeting with Louis Walsh too.”
Vicky added: “Katie also took a lot of her time out to sit with Tiarney – she certainly wasn’t horrible and even though I didn’t support her at first, I do now.
“Belle Amie also sat with Tiarney. There was such a lovely atmosphere.”
Tiarney travelled down to London after Birmingham Children’s Hospital laid on the transport.
“It nearly didn’t happen but the hospital stepped in and offered Tiarney transport. It was such a fantastic day for Tiarney,” Vicky added.
Aaaw this is so beautiful, I just teared up a little, hopefully one day Tiarney will recover fully!
