X Factor runner up Rebecca Ferguson reportedly changed all of her songs at the last minute before the weekend’s finals and was forced to phone her mentor Cherly Cole in the middle of the night.
Ferguson, who went head-to-head with winner Matt Cardle in last night’s final, told Cole on Thursday: “Everything is wrong.”
The Mirror reported that the X Factor hopeful was desperate to change her tracks, and eventually convinced ‘The Flood’ singer that she needed news tracks and staging which meant that all of her week’s rehearsals had gone to waste.
An X Factor insider told the tabloid: “Rebecca is normally calm, but she got very upset at the contestants’ house after rehearsal and had no choice but to call Cheryl, even though it was the middle of the night. She felt some of the songs weren’t right for her and the staging didn’t feel natural.
“Rebecca was very apologetic about calling, but it didn’t faze Cheryl at all and she took it in her stride. She got out of bed and started working on ideas there and then. It is far from ideal preparation but Cheryl has worked out a new set and Rebecca was back on stage yesterday rehearsing all the new moves and songs.”
