Cheryl favourite to win Best Female at The BRIT Awards

The Awards season is already building apace as we march into 2011, the Golden Globes nominees already cruising around the interview circuit to garner support for their films and stars and before we know it the Brit Awards will be on us again.

Bookmakers Paddy Power, in their Brit Awards Odds have National treasure Cheryl Cole favourite to win the Best British Female Gong at 11/10.

The ceremony will take place on friday 14th February, which will no doubt give the producers ample opportunity to play the Valentines card. The nominees this year centre on safety rather than real innovation, perhaps reflecting a nation’s need for comfort and reassurance in a time of social and economic upheaval.

Cole will certainly be relieved to win the Brit after what has been a challenging 2010, not only as a result of her near death experience with malaria but also the near fatal career storm over her contentious dismissal of Gamu Nhengu in the X Factor.

The star and her fans will certainly breathe a sigh of relief if she were to win, although her bandmates from Girls Aloud may not feel so assured of their future career paths.
