Sharon Osbourne has said that she believes Cheryl Cole will be a success in America.
The former X Factor judge previously admitted that she doubted the Girls Aloud star would land a role on the US version of the competition. It was claimed yesterday that Cole will work with vocal coach Bob Corff to ensure that the American audience understand her.
“Americans won’t understand a bloody word of unadulterated Geordie,” Osbourne told The Mirror. “But with a little help – and those gorgeous Bambi eyes – she’ll win the audience over. Cheryl will be great.
“She needs to know what she can and can’t say, but after that it’ll be plain sailing. And she has Simon’s full backing so she will be just fine, no matter what.”
However, Osbourne added that she believes reports that Cowell and Cole will exit the UK show in order to focus on the Fox programme.
“Cheryl and Simon Cowell are the only two confirmed for the US X Factor so far. They won’t be doing the UK show, I’m pretty certain,” she said. “Simon’s going to decide at the last minute who he wants to complete the panel, but Mariah Carey’s still in the frame.”
